Today I stumbled over this quote again:

... and this reminds me that I want to remove mod_rrdtool from the 1.5.x tree and replace it with a more flexible, external solution.

mod_rrdtool is a rip-off of mod_status and calls the rrdtool binary directly via a pipe. Problems:

is has a pipe open all the time
it doesn’t handle a restart
doesn’t work with max-worker

I think that snmp support could be convinient way to gather statistics (enabled compile-time, smth like in squid).

greg this is only Jan's blog (main dev) i believe maybe other devs can blog as well? its a good way to connect with the community besides the usuall IRC channel (which is worth a visit)

I forgot to mention, please of please revert back to the old style web site for lighttpd. I realize this is not a top priority but it's hard to convenience my co-workers to use lighty when the official website looks like a teenagers MySpace blog.

I am also curious about the time frame of when v1.5 will be released. I realize it will be released when it's ready. Though, are we talking weeks? Months? End of year?

great keep it up we rather have v1.5 with core features and then worry about plugins than no 1.5 and no plugins because they are in beta
