Kiel, Germany. – ... how to start such a press-release ?

According to netcraft’s server-survey Feb’07 lighttpd is now on #6 and has now a market-share of 0.6%. This is more then 700,000 domains which are handled by lighttpd. Last month we were at #12 with 170,000 domains.

Even if I don’t trust this impressive raise I’m none-the-less impressed by it. What comes next ? If we really make it into the top5 for a longer time I will need someone who knows how to write a press-release.

I'm using lighty on my server since over a year. It's just a small web-page but why should I use a monster like Apache if I can have a small and fast lighty? :) Grats to your success, we all know how hard you all work on this great piece of software! :)

Last oktober I changed all my Apache webservers to Lighttpd. I didn't miss Apache for a moment!!

Great news, we've been moving some of our stuff over for a while now. I think if cPanel or Plesk or somebody made a move for supporting lighty it's market share would explode, I'm sure of it, we talk to hosts all the time with what we do and allot of them watch lighty with intrest.

FYI: lighttpd is going to be huge. It's an Open Source Zeus -- and Zeus is the thing to look to for inspiration. A featureful open source multiplexing server has been sorely needed for years, and lighttpd is doing it. Keep it up, it rocks!

I use it for some things, but there's one must-have feature I wish it would support, that's keeping me from moving everything to it. Server Side Includes. *With* nested virtual. Still, this is a great bit of software. Congratulations, jan!
